Thank you!
All of us at Flat Iron Cafe want to thank Middleboro and the surrounding communities for all of your support and patronage in the past five years. We especially appreciate and treasure your friendship and are looking forward to another five years of great food, terrific music and good friends!
We also want to send a final thank you to the Middleboro Gazette. Throughout the years, the editors and staff at the Gazette have been very generous with the space in the newspaper. They always make an effort to promote our music series and other events and we are grateful for all of their support. If you haven’t had a chance to pick up this week’s edition of the Middleboro Gazette, you can check out the advertisement we ran in there this week, and then run out to your local shop and pick up your own copy (still only fifty cents!).
Happy New Year! 2010 was a terrific year here at Flat Iron Cafe but we’re thinking that 2011 is going to be even better! Along with new chefs and charming servers, we are going to be doubling your musical fun this year.
That’s right… you heard us! Flat Iron Cafe’s Saturday night music series in 2010 was so wildly successful that we are now expanding to Friday nights as well. And it all kicks off this week!
First up: On Friday, January 7, 2011 we’re going to be rockin’ and rollin’ with Hard Case. They’ll be singing your favorite rock ‘n roll tunes from the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s. We’ll also be serving up succulent prime rib – always cooked to your liking – to go with the music. Prime rib starts at 5:00PM and the music starts at 8:00PM… who’s with us?
Next up is John Ahl on Saturday, January 8, 2011. John is a new acoustic musician who is rapidly becoming a Flat Iron favorite. He will be singing a variety of your favorites and invites everyone to stop in, grab some half-price pizza and then kick back for some terrific music, starting at 8:00 PM.
Our new year resolution is to make Flat Iron Cafe THE place to be on Friday and Saturday night. If you have not yet been in for our music (never a cover charge, by the way), then give us a try this week. We promise you won’t be disappointed with the musicians we’ve chosen for this week or with our food.
From all of us at Flat Iron Cafe, we wish you a happy, healthy and merry holiday season! No matter what holiday you may celebrate, we wish for you and your family to be safe, warm and happy during this holiday season.
For the holidays, our schedule has changed. Please keep reading to get more information about holiday hours…

Wal Man’s entertainment career started when he debuted on TV’s “Bozo’s Big Top” as a precocious 6 year old. He was a new face; bright, young and talented. Needless to say, he was a hit! His success on Bozo lead to appearances on “The Rex Trailer Show”, Major Mud and Mr. Bubbles commercials (he was the kid in the tub). But people really sat up and took notice when he appeared on channel 38′s “Willy Whistle Show”. Wal knew he had hit the big time!
His music has carried him through tough times and he has become a powerful songwriter and performer. When he comes to play, it’s quite a show! You can find more information about Wal at www.myspace.com/thisiswalman. Wal Man will be performing at Flat Iron Café on Saturday, December 18, 2010 from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM. It simply doesn’t get any better than a Saturday night at Flat Iron Café. The entire crowd can eat, relax and enjoy some great music all without leaving Middleboro! Bring the family… bring your date… bring your friends and join us on Saturday, December 18, 2010 from 7:30 to 10:30 PM to meet Wal Man and enjoy a musical experience unlike any other!

Bill Mulligan
On Saturday, December 11, 2010 Bill Mulligan Returns To Flat Iron Cafe!
If you were anywhere near Stonehill College in the 1960s, you might remember Bill Mulligan. He was a member of the Country Squires, an energetic folk group which make a name for itself at colleges, high schools and hootenannies. After graduation, Bill continued performing weekends and summers while pursuing a teaching career; a career he then gave up in 1972 to pursue his dreams of entertaining people on a full-time basis. Three years after making that decision, Bill teamed up with former band member, Mike Couto. Mike and Bill were tremendously popular on the South Coast, Cape Cod and in Newport, Rhode Island. They also entertained the locals and the tourists in Florida on the cruise ship, The Spirit of Tampa.
Over the years, Bill has developed his own relaxed style of entertaining. To his singing and guitar-playing he adds a warm sense of humor while performing a wide range of music including standard favorites, oldies but goodies, folk and Irish music and easy rock. Bill has quickly become Flat Iron Café’s most popular performer. He has quickly won over young and old alike with his quick wit, fast fingers and easy harmonies.
Due to a cancellation from Flat Iron Café’s previously scheduled performer, Bill has graciously offered to appear for the second week in a row at the restaurant. Along with this surprise repeat performance, Flat Iron Café also has half-price pizza from 4:00 PM to 10:30 PM on Saturday. It simply doesn’t get any better than a Saturday night at Flat Iron Café. The entire crowd can eat, relax and enjoy some great music all without leaving Middleboro! Bring the family… bring your date… bring your friends and join us on Saturday, December 11, 2010 from 7:30 to 10:30 PM to meet Bill and listen to the music you remember from your childhood, your rebellious teenage years, your roaring 20’s and beyond.
