On Halloween night, October 31, 2009 Flat Iron Café presents Jeff Jenness and Meghan Robertson for a night of terrific entertainment and Halloween madness!
Jeff and Meghan have been playing music together for more than two years in a local band (The Shed Inspectors). Wanting to try some other avenues of entertainment, they are now branching out and playing acoustic duo sets of music. A native of Middleboro, Massachusetts Jeff has been playing guitar for nearly twenty years. He is self-taught and has been in numerous local bands. Meghan, a native of Brockton, Massachusetts, is relatively new to playing in a duo. She started singing in plays and musicals about ten years ago and has decided to embark on new adventures with Jeff. Together, the pair play a variety of musical genres ranging from Elvis Presley to Sugarland and everything in between. Their unique vocals and playing are rapidly catching the attention of a variety of clubs in Southeastern Massachusetts and we are very happy to have them at Flat Iron Café. They have also been working on some special songs – just in time for Halloween!
The staff is dressing up for Halloween and we hope that everyone will join us in the costume parade. We will be holding a contest to see who has the best costume. (Hint: dressing like pizza or other foods will definitely increase your chances for winning our costume contests.) Come on in for the food, music and Halloween hilarity between 8:00PM and 11:00M on October 31st… you never know who might be haunting the place that night.
Join us on Saturday, October 31, 2009 from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM for what is sure to be an unforgettable evening of music, food, friends and laughter!

The Middleboro Sachems won their first game of the season and Flat Iron Cafe was there – along with WVBF 1530 AM – to witness the awesome win over Randolph!
While the rivalry between Middleboro and Randolph may be continuing at Flat Iron Cafe (Debi is a Middleboro High graduate and Tom is a true native of Randolph) we just want to thank everyone for the great time had by all this weekend!
We thoroughly enjoyed being in the press box on Friday night for the football game, followed by the radio station, Bill Mulligan and Cheryle Correa performing on Saturday. It was terrific and we can’t wait to do it all over again next year.
We also want to thank Nikki & Daryl Shumway – of NJ-Photo.com – for all the time and energy they spent getting terrific pictures of our various events and happenings. We will be sharing those with everyone else as soon as they are ready! Contact us if you want more information about NJ-Photo… we recommend them for any event or special occasion you may be planning!
But in the meantime, sit back and enjoy some of the video we captured during Saturday’s homecoming events!

About Farrar’s Flat Iron Cafe
The building known as “Farrar’s” was established in 1898 by David H. Farrar. It began as a tobacco and candy store — later adding newspapers. For many years, Farrar’s was a waiting station for the patrons of the Eastern Massachusetts Railway when trolley cars ran between Brockton and New Bedford and the East Taunton Railway. The business was with the Farrar/Reed family — running as a popular ice cream and sandwich shop and friendly place to stop in the west end of Middleborough — until 1996.
Today, Farrar’s Flat Iron Café is a relaxed and family-friendly place where you can find good food, friendly service staff and owners who are working hard to make the café the place where everybody knows your name and you know that you are always welcome. We are celebrating our third year in business at 444 Centre Street in Middleboro, Massachusetts. More information about Farrar’s Flat Iron Café can be found on the web at http://www.flatironcafe.info, on Twitter at http://twitter.com/flatironcafe or on http://www.facebook.com/flatironcafe.

Eric Simon
On Saturday, October 10, 2009 Eric Simon returns to Flat Iron Cafe for an evening of fantastic entertainment!
Eric is a singer-songwriter currently hypnotizing Greater Boston with a stunning blend of acoustic rock and pop. Coming from a musically inclined background, Eric learned at an early age how to play the piano, and taught himself how to play the guitar when he was just starting high school. Having no formal training in either instrument, Eric incorporates a tireless work ethic and an emotional edge into both his writing and his performances.
Eric is a Flat Iron Cafe favorite and we hope you will join us on Saturday, October 10, 2009 from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm for an evening of good food, great friends and terrific music!
You can also hear samples of Eric’s music at http://www.myspace.com/ericcsimon.
